The Twelfth Night celebrations took place on Bankside, starting outside the Globe Theatre with the wassailing an ancient Anglo-Saxon, pagan-rooted tradition which this time involved chucking cider on the gates of the Globe Theatre followed by a play on the pier much to the bemusement of people trying to board the Thames clipper river boats.
