Opis:
After 42 years, the class 455 farewell tour features south western workhorses that have served London Waterloo commuters till the very end in great reliability. They have won a remarkable total of 13 Golden Spanners awards for reliability to prove it. Built by British Rail Engineering Limited at their workshop in York between 1982 and 1985, the trains entered service on what is now SWR's suburban network on Monday, 28 March 1983. The units on the first train are class 455712+455717, and the second class is 455727+87. The farewell tour by Great British Railways/South Western Railway and the Branch Line Society is raising money for the Alex Wardle Foundation, Macmillan, and Railway Children.
