London, UK. 04th Dec, 2025. This year's new position means the tree is seen with the National Gallery as a beautiful backdrop, and the crowds appear to enjoy it. The Trafalgar Square Christmas Tree lighting ceremony, attended by Mayor of Oslo Anne Lindboe, Westminster's Lord Mayor, Paul Dimoldenberg, and Mayor of London Sadiq Khan. As is tradition, every year since 1947 the Norwegian spruce has been gifted by Norway as a thank you for being supported during WW2.
