Picture MUST credit: LEGO Toy brick firm LEGO has unveiled its most expensive set ever — a giant version of the Star Wars Darth Vader Death Star for an eye popping €999 euros. The Ultimate Collector Series Death Star is a 9,023-piece model that shows the battle station in vertical cross-section. Inside are 15 iconic Star Wars scenes ranging from the first three movies, Star Wars: A New Hope to Return of the Jedi. These include the trash compactor's moving walls, Princess Leia's cell, Obi-Wan's tractor beam switch-off, Darth Vader's meditation pod, and Emperor Palpatine's throne room. The set even includes a hangar bay large enough to dock an Imperial Shuttle and a massive Superlaser dish mounted on the exterior. This isn't LEGO's first Death Star, but it's the most elaborate. Previous versions released in 2008 and 2016 leaned toward rounded silhouettes, while this iteration focuses on cinematic detail. Measuring 52cm tall, 48cm wide, and 38 cm deep, it is designed for display as much as for play. LEGO's World Map remains the Danish company's largest brick set with 11,000 pieces but the new Death Star is now the most expensive. The box contains 38 minifigures, more than any LEGO set to date.
