Picture MUST credit: Rolls-Royce Luxury car maker Rolls-Royce has unveiled one of its Phantom top-of-the-range limousines — which has been turned into a tribute to hand-made lace. The vehicle has an interior featuring more than 230,000 lace-like stitches It was commissioned by a customer in Dubai, UAE, as a gift for their father. The one-of-one Phantom Dentelle is described as a " deeply personal project.” The inspiration was a piece of couture lace featuring three-dimensional floral shapes and soft pearl-like details. The main embroidery design runs the full width of the fascia. The embroidery layers multiple stitch techniques, thread densities and colours including rose gold and oatmeal. It is said to evoke textures of petals, ferns and lacework. In total, the piece comprises more than 160,000 stitches. The section between the rear seats continues the floral theme with more embroidery echoing the detail on the dashboard consisting of 70,000 stitches. Picture supplied by JLPPA
