C'est avec M.Niddam, le président du consistoire israélite de Nice, que le maire a enlevé les drapeaux israéliens qu'il souhaitait retirer lors de la libération du dernier otage à Gaza. Ce jeudi 26 juin 2025, le tribunal administratif de Nice a ordonné à la mairie de Nice d'ôter les drapeaux israéliens de son fronton. En mai 2025, le préfet des Alpes-Maritimes, L.Hottiaux, dans un courrier adressé au maire, avait demandé officiellement le retrait du drapeau israélien, au nom de la neutralité du service public. On the pediment of the city hall, Nice flags bearing a red eagle replaced the Israeli flags.
