Picture MUST credit: Guinness World Records A jaw-dropping new world record has been set — by a woman with the largest gaping mouth. American Marie Pearl Zellmer Robinson, 43, can open wide up to 7.33 cm, while the jaws ofthe previous record holder were just 6.52 cm. Marie, from Ketchican, Alaska looks like anyone else with her mouth closed. But when she tilts her head back and opens wide she can easily fit a 330ml aluminium drinks can between her teeth, as well as a baseball, entire orange and even four wooden Jenga bricks. She said ever since she was a child she knew she had a big yawn. As one of seven children, she remembers messing around with her siblings, safely sticking oranges and even lightbulbs in and out of her mouth for their entertainment. She said: "It was always just kind of a joke that I could fit two, you know, three and a half Jenga blocks in my mouth, type of concept, when you're kids.” She decided to go for the Guinness World Record when she saw a video online of the previous male and female record holders for thelargest mouth gape.
