He was speaking via video from the USA at an online charity awards ceremony which is a lasting legacy to his late mother who died in 1997. The Diana Award is a charity whichrecognises young people who work to improve the lives of others in the world. It was established in 1999 by the then UK prime minister Gordon Brown in memory of Diana, with the aim of empowering young people to make a difference. The Duke of Sussex , 40 , appeared without wife Meghan Markle, 43, as he sat between two legacy award recipients— Christina Williams andChiara Riyanti Hutapea Zhang— at the ceremony which marked the award's 25th anniversary.
