Picture MUST credit: Debbie Wingham A food artist has created what she says is the world's most expensive afternoon tea — with a £58,000 GBP / €69.450 euros price tag. It was staged onboard a 30 m yacht moored in Puerto Banus, Marbella, southern Spain, for a 21st birthday party and included swag bags for 10 friends. The afternoon tea was created by British artist Debbie WIngham, 42. It featured delicate finger sandwiches, which were a combination of afternoon tea favourites, artfully arranged on top of a handbag, which featured a display platter. The handbag was adorned with crocodile leather details, solid gold and diamond hardware that featured more than 300 diamonds. It was completed by a diamond handbag charm consisting of a vintage bracelet by jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels paired with a diamond adorned lock and key. Each cup and saucer mimicked the design of a purse while the teapot featured a diamond handbag charm with pearl and rose adornments. The pastries were inspired by elements found in a lady's dressing room and featured an edible perfume bottle.
