Picture MUST credit: Julien's Auctions The phaser weapon used by actor William Shatner as Captain James T. Kirk in the original Star Trek TV series has sold for $910,000 USD / €851.400 euros at auction. It made it the most expensive item from either the Star Trek sci-fi series of TV shows and films ever sold at auction. It was also nine times the presale estimate. And in the same sale, Shatner's flip-top communicator from the 1960s shows went for $780,000 USD / €729.770 euros, nearly eight times the estimate while his iconic uniform of yellow velour tunic and black trousers went under the hammer for $455,000 USD / €425.700 euros, seven times the estimate. The navigation console seen in the bridge of the USS was snapped up for $260,000 USD / €243.260 euros. The props emerged after more than 60 years and were amongst more than 200 rare and authentic Star Trek items sold on November 9 in Los Angeles, California and staged by saleroom Julien's Auctions.
