Senior British royal Prince Andrew's infamous TV interview about his friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. The series to be aired on Amazon Prime, is based on the memoir of the journalist who quizzed Andrew, Emily Maitlis, 54. She is played in the programme, called A Very Royal Scandal, by The Affair TV actress Ruth Wilson ,42, while Andrew, the Duke of York, is portrayed by Good Omens TV star Michael Sheen, 55 Maitlis is executive producer on the retelling of her 2019 BBC Buckingham Palace interview with the late Queen Elizabeth's third oldest child. And in scenes set to air in the first episode, Maitlis's character reveals that before Prince Andrew agreed to the terms of his interview with BBC programme Newsnight, he asked the presenter whether she had ever been abused. It happens when the BBC team at the BBC attended a pre-meet with Andrew, alongside his daughter Beatrice and his private secretary Amanda Thirsk. Before agreeing to the interview, the Duke leans forward and asks: "Have any of you ever been victims of abuse?” Visibly shaken by the question, the journalist appears to freeze.
