Pictures must credit: Julien's Auctions A sale of dresses, suits, shoes and handbags that belonged to the late Princess Diana has sold for $5.5 million USD at auction. The event featured the largest curated collection of the most famous and glamorous wardrobe items since her historic 1997 charity auction. The June 27 sale came just a few days before what would have been Diana's 63rd birthday on July 1. The collection of over 50 lots featured Diana's favourite British designers including Catherine Walker, Victor Edelstein, Caroline Charles, and Murray Arbeid. The sale was held by US based Julien's Auctions live in front of an audience of collectors, museum curators and fans at The Peninsula Beverly Hills in Los Angeles, California while thousands of bidders from around the world participated online.
