Pictures MUST credit: Tesla Elon Musk's Tesla has unveiled a brand new version of its humanoid robot — and this one can disco dance and gently pick up and put down an egg without cracking it. The Optimus Gen 2 , which has an artificial intelligence powered brain, is said to be 10 kg lighter, more capable, and looks much more human in the way it moves. It's also got new dexterous hands and fingers. The new version has a neck with two degrees of freedom, integrated electronics and wiring, and a more human foot shape with articulated toe sections and force/torque sensors. The new hands have 11 degrees of movement freedom, faster mechanical muscles known as actuators, and tactile sensors on all its fingers to enable more deft manipulation of objects. The Optimus is a machine designed to be a useful member of a workforce, particularly in the factory or a warehouse, moving and carrying things.
