The two purses: one red and one white, containing Maundy Money are seen in a bowl before being distributed. In the white purse are a set of specially minted silver Maundy coins and in the Red Purse a Ł5 coin which features the image of a Tudor Dragon, and a 50p coin commemorating the RNLI, in Worcester Cathedral, western England on March 28, 2024.. Maundy Thursday is the Christian holy day falling on the Thursday before Easter. The monarch commemorates Maundy by offering 'alms' to senior citizens.
